I hope you enjoyed my previous post delving into the history of our 3 years at the Randall Homestead! I am so excited that after a few years of not really doing much for the house, we are getting back into DIY mode.
With that said, let’s talk about the bathroom remodel!
Let me re-share some photos of the lone bathroom.
Right when we moved in, I thought I wanted to be edgy and painted the bathroom bright green and had black and white accent. We had a black and white chevron curtain and a chalk board above the towel rack.
Right after our wedding, which was about 9 months after we moved in, I decided we needed to create a brighter atmosphere. We painted the walls “Clear Blue Sky” and added in a lot of green accents (green is one of my favorite colors). This is definitely a livable bathroom, and we have been really happy with it for 2 years. Now, we’re at a different time in our lives and we have changed. We are hoping to create a cozy yet sophisticated spa like room to relax.
So far, this is the idea for the bathroom.
I only included items on my mood board that are NOT already there. We plan on keeping our vanity, and since it’s had a little wear and tear since we bought it, I am going to attempt to convince Chris to let me paint it white. We will see though 🙂
As I mentioned in my previous post, we are painting the walls Storm by Benjamin Moore, getting a new, taller toilet, laying tile that looks like wood, and tiling the tub surround with subway tile. We have also purchased a 6 foot whirlpool tub so that Chris can soak in the tub even though he is freakishly tall. He has a bad back, so this was a huge priority for us, even though we will have to build into his closet for the tub.
I’m not quite sure if I’m going to keep the same decor or not…I didn’t have much up on the walls anyways, but we’ll see if I find anything else that I love as much as vintage foliage prints 🙂
Believe it or not, the hardest part for me is finding a shower curtain! It’s such a huge focal point of the bathroom, and not many box stores share my style since I have to also satisfy my husband. Here are a few options I am thinking of:
Geo Curtain from Anthropologie
John Robshaw Claridge Shower Curtain from Anthropologie
Which one do you like better for the space?
I think we are going to start with the tub area, hopefully this week! I can’t wait to take your on this journey with us 🙂
